Buying this web site was a mistake.  Not only did the previous owner lie to me about the traffic figures, a real surprise there, but the entire site was built on one lie after another.  I got caught up in the lure of a site with traffic that I thought I could “convert” to real business opportunities, not the crap that was on it.  I am quickly learning that the Internet is almost completely void of any real honest business opportunities.  A strange thing for someone who has a site that deals with Internet business opportunities to say, but the truth, none the less.

I bought this site in December of last year, 2009, and have just recently spent some time on the site.  For those of you who remember the site from before, I have just taken off about 60 Affiliate Programs as well as assorted get rich quick schemes, profit plug in sites offers, and pretty well every scam imaginable and them some.  In retrospect, I wonder what the hell I was thinking!!

I have cleaned up almost all of the garbage, a few things left to do, but the site is pretty clean now. My problem is: what the heck do I do with the site now?

In the last few weeks, while there have been some major changes to the site, I have had to make some choices about what the site will be about and what the site will stand for, if anything. It really has come down to values versus cash. Do I want to stay true to what I believe is right, and offer something of value on this site, or do I just check my values at the door and make this another vacuous ad sense money pit?

Guess what?

My real background is in Time Management, which is where my expertise lies.  I have 30 plus years in that field and that was one of the reasons I did buy this site. Over the years, I have dealt with thousands of people who wanted to start to build a small part-time business for themselves, and then grow that business to whatever size they felt would suit and benefit them and their families.  I was hoping that I would be able to turn this site into one that would help people on their journeys to bettering and improving their lives.

Over the last 6 months, I have tossed and turned trying to figure out what to do with this site, how I could build and grow this site, and be proud of the end result.  The advice I have received over that time has been mixed, most favored just making this into another carpetbagger site, like the other multiple thousands of sites out there that hustle anything that will make someone click onto an AdSense ad and make the site owner 12 cents.

I’ve decided that if I am going to fail, I will at least fail going down swinging.  As I have said, most of the garbage is gone, I have products on this site that I own and am proud of.  The rest will go soon.  I think Google can survive without my meager contribution to their bulging coffers.

I do not think there is anything more pathetic than actually building a web site with the sole purpose of tricking people to come and, when they discover it’s a sham, they click an ad,  to escape the fraud, and in doing so, reward the web site owner for their deception.  If this is the definition of success on the Internet, then I hope I end up a failure.  At least I will still have my self-respect.

I do have some challenges: I need to work around the whole SEO, keyword thing, and having a site that offers something different to people who are used to being bombarded with Affiliate links as some sort of answer to their quest to improve their lives.  And providing what I have to offer on this site will be a challenge.  The funny thing is, the people who need the services I offer are the ones who frequent the other types of sites the most.

So then, what will this site be about?

This will be a site that will profoundly help you on your journey to providing yourself and those around you with the ability to improve, enrich and better your current life style, REGARDLESS of what future business venture you decide to take on.

I have helped thousands of people over the last 30 years to better themselves, improving their skill set, becoming more assertive and confident in their new abilities, and taking their new skills and applying them to whatever new business opportunity they decide to enter.

For those of you who came to this site looking for some magical or secret formula that will transform the life you have now to a life you are looking to have, you may not think so, but you have found that key.  It is just in a different shape than what you thought it would look like.

I will leave you with this one thought: regardless of the business opportunity you decide to take on, your ability to succeed in that venture is not dependant upon the merits of that specific opportunity but on your skills, abilities and how effective you are at managing and investing your time.
