You wake up one morning and you want to change your life and improve your circumstances; what’s the first step in this process?  It seems that most people start by visiting a site like this one, a site that deals with starting an internet home business.  99.999% of sites like this one are in business to sell you something, anything that deals with an internet business opportunity.  My question to you is this: what if that is not the best course of action for you to take?  What if that is, in fact, the worse thing for you to do, what then?

Setting up this site was and is a struggle.  The struggle I am having is trying to find a way to offer what I know to be the best service to people who are looking to change their lives through financially improving their own circumstances.  Unfortunately, what I have seen over the last 30 plus years is that far too many people do not improve their lives through this journey, but damage and make things worse before it’s all said and done.

The Number One Mistake That Virtually All People Make

Before you can change your life, you need to have an accurate and realistic picture of where you are starting from.  Before you start to look at what business you may want to start, you need to take an inventory of what resources you have to invest in your new business.  Would you start a long car ride without seeing if there was any gas in the car?  Would you start the same journey without sufficient funds to buy more gas if it was needed?  Most of us not only start our journey and foray into the business world without checking to see if we have gas; we start off without any idea where this journey will take us.

Starting a new business requires a wide array of resources.  I am only going to discuss one here, and the one that I know will cause you the greatest concern, that resource is time.  Despite all of the other issues and concerns that are going to impact your new venture, your lack of available time is going to be the deal breaker.  The steps you are going to take to change your life will all flow through what time you have or do not have to invest in your new business venture.

Start With A Time Audit

Nothing will have a greater impact on your life that the way you decide to use and invest your time.  The sooner you are on board with this, the sooner you are going to start to make a positive impact on your life and yourself.  When you break life down to its simplest form, it looks like this:

  1. We want to be happy.
  2. What makes us happy?
  3. How do we go about doing the things that make us happy?

Right now, I am going to spend some time on number 3: how do we go about doing the things that make us happy.  I am going to zoom over 1 and 2, and spend time on what number 3 is, in your case, you seemed to have picked starting a business as the route to achieving number 1 and 2.

Lets move forward: you want to start a business because you have decided that will make you happy and or will provide you with the things that will make you happy.  No argument there, (for now).  At the moment we want to start on making whatever business you have decided on successful.

Remember, on this web site, I am not here to promote any business opportunity, what I am here to promote are the ways to help you be as successful as possible, help you change your life and to make sure you have the best chance at success.

The way to do that is to get you to assess the availability of your greatest and most powerful ally, your time.  I am willing to bet that you spent zero time on looking at where the time was going to come from to work on your new business, am I correct?

Let’s Start That Process Now

If you want to change your life, you have to change how you look at time and how you use and invest this crucial nonrenewable resource.  The better you use your time, the better your life will be, its impossible to experience any other end result.

This is not some long drawn out process, its really very simple, you add and then you subtract, its that easy.

  1. Add up all of the things you are currently filling up your days with.
  2. Subtract that number from 168 hours (the hours in a week).

That number is the hours you have left from an average week to spend on your new internet business opportunity. Surprised?

This process is crucially important to you if you are really going to change your life.  Not only in identifying what time you have to invest in your new business venture but important to you as you start to look at time and you, and how that relationship is going to enable you to lay the foundation that you can build a successful and happy life on.
