The current internet business ideas regarding article marketing and original content need to be clarified so you perhaps do not make the same mistakes that I made over the last year or so.  I started my internet home business career almost 2 years ago, and one of the many mistakes I made was in regards to Article Marketing (A.M.) and original content, (they are all rolled up into one ball).

Starting an internet business opportunity is a task that requires a number of different skills.  One of them is knowing how to set up a web site correctly.  There are a wide variety of internet home business ideas and skill sets you need to be familiar with and I want to deal with just two of them here.

A.M. is touted to all new people starting out with a internet business opportunity, as a surefire way to build traffic to your web site as well as a way to get back links and increase your page rank.  From my perspective, as well as many other people I have talked to, you should be very careful about writing and submitting articles in the hopes that you will substantially increase your traffic to your web site.

The A.M. industry has a vested interest in putting out these internet business ideas as a way to build substantial traffic to your site. With the proliferation of internet business opportunities out there, the competition for traffic is fierce, the methods that once worked, no longer are effective, and unfortunately, A.M. has been vastly overrated as a method to build traffic.  With literally millions of new web sites opening up, the volume of articles that are being produced makes the possibility that any one particular article has the chance to be even seen, let alone read is very remote.

The normal procedure for A.M. is this, you write an original article and then submit your article to an article directory site, this site then put your article on their site where anyone can reproduce or copy your article, as long as they leave the authors box at the bottom of the article on the article. It is this author’s box that will have a link back to your internet home business web site and it is from this link that you hope to get traffic back to your site.

A.M. has the potential to serve two purposes in helping you build your site, one is the possibility of traffic linking back to your web site from the authors box in any article you may write, the second purpose, far more likely, is the link building possibility. Whenever any site puts one of your articles on its web site and that article has an author’s box or anchored text links in the article, you now have a back link to your internet home business web site. These back links are the same ones that you wee hoping would bring traffic to your site, but they serve a second purpose here.

Back links help to increase your web sites over all page rank and ultimately move your site higher in the search engines placing of your web site. All of the internet business opportunities that are in the same market niche as you are,  are all competing to be in the top spot on the search engines for the same keywords you are using. The higher the page rank you have, the greater the chances you have of being ranked ahead of someone who has a lower page rank. Page rank is a scale from 0 to 10, zero being the lowest, 10 being the top.

As you start to develop a strategy to build your internet home business opportunity, you need to have a clear understanding of the current internet business ideas about article marketing. There will be a group of people out there who have vested financial interest in you believing that the way to financial success is to write a ton of articles, submit those articles and then wait for the traffic to flow in. I strongly urge you to re think that position and get outside non biased independent opinions before you start investing time and effort into A.M.
