Accurately identifying where you want to be is the second step to changing your life.  The process to change your life is one that will last as long as you live, if you are doing it right.  This is not some sort of quick fix, life is a complicated process, and working on making changes that are going to benefit you can sometimes be frustrating and time consuming.  You may find it strange that someone is actually telling you that to get anywhere in life is not always a walk in the park, some people find that unsettling, others find it refreshing.  What you will always get here is my very best advice and suggestions to you, administered without sugar-coating and the usual internet lingo of overnight, painless success achieved at the flick of a mouse.The Second Step

We are at a point in our lives; some of us are happy with where we are, others are looking for a change.  We are looking for something more, something different than what we currently have. If you are serious about the need to change your life, you will want to spend the appropriate amount of time making sure you know where it is you want to eventually end up.  There is a simple matrix that I use whenever I am looking at moving forward with my life, take a look;

  1. Am I currently functioning with the right balance in my life?
  2. Is my current lifestyle sustainable?
  3. Am I really ready to take on more in my life right now?

Am I currently functioning with the right balance in my life?

This web site is here to make you more successful, make you a happier person and to give you the tools to reach more of your goals.  An important step in your achieving the goals you want in life, is to start from a solid foundation.  That foundation will enable you to get your current life in order, and then build on that success.  This is the time where you have to ask yourself the tough questions, starting now.

Am I currently cleaning up my plate on a daily basis?

Simply put, at the end of each day, are you able to accomplish the goals, task, jobs that you want to achieve everyday. The question is, are you cleaning off your current plate of activities each day, and are you happy with your own personal performance right now?

If the answer is yes, then you are ready to take on more responsibility, you can add more to your daily routine, you are ready to move on to making concrete changes to your life. If  on the other hand, the answer is no, then you need to look at what you want to do and what can be taken off your workload in order to get a better balance to your life.

The purpose of this article is not to identify what you should be doing in order to get a better balance, better results in your life, but to identify where you are in the process and to then start to look at what changes you want to make. One of those changes should not be to start an internet home business, probably the reason you came to this site in the first place. Starting an internet home business while you are struggling to function under your current work load would be a disaster waiting to happen.

Is my current lifestyle sustainable?

Can I maintain my current lifestyle, can I/do I want to continue to live and function the way I do now?  There are two questions here, both end up in the same place, is this how I see myself living for the rest of my life? If the answer is no, to either question, then before you start to look at making changes that require you to add to your life, you need to make changes that will make your life the one you want to add to.

Going back to our original question, if you are not able to clear your plate at the end of each day, then you are not living the kind of life that you can continue to lead.  What you are experiencing is a backlog of goals that you want to currently achieve.  This backlog is just getting deeper and longer as you continue to live basically outside of your means to achieve anything close to what you would like to achieve.

If you cannot get done now what you want to accomplish, what is the sense in looking outward at other drains on your time and resources, like an internet business opportunity for example? For those of you who came to this site looking to start an internet business of some kind, I hope you are reading this article and having an “ah ha”  moment.  If I can, I want you to look backward for a moment, before you look and act forward.

Am I ready to take on more in my life right now?

The above two points lead us to this one, I would like you to consider where you are now in your life and look hard at whether this is the right time to add more to your schedule. The goal is to change your life, the way to do that could be to subtract instead of adding. The question is not should you change your life, but what is the best way to do that, based on your current circumstances.

I am a big believer in making sure things are ship shape, before heading out to deeper waters. The number one reason people fail at new things is because they fail to put themselves in a position to succeed. If you can not keep your face above water now, what is going to happen when you add even more responsibility and an additional workload on your shoulders?

I want you to take away from this post a new insight, that insight is simple, moving forward sometimes meaning doing less, but accomplishing this reduced workload will mean achieving far more in the end. Have a great day, see you tomorrow.
