The internet does not lack a variety of internet business opportunities, finding one that suits your skills as well as your interests is the challenge.  I find that the search can be narrowed to two areas, an internet business opportunity that you come to the table with, and all of the rest out there.  Let’s first deal with the ones that you already come to the table with; a business or a skill you have, and all that is left is for you to put up a web site and start to promote it.

This type of business, one that you have the skills, experience or previous knowledge is by far the most beneficial to you to work with for a number of reasons.  The main one is the integrity of your internet business opportunity, specifically, your web site.  A successful web site has many elements; most of them deal with the content on the site and where that content comes from.  Original content is often referred to as the King Of The Internet; everybody wants to have original content on their site and for good reason.

To be successful on the internet, for your internet home business to make it, you need among many things, but these two ingredients above all others: customers/traffic.  And to be ranked higher in the search engines for your keywords that your competitors.  Both of these ingredients hinge on your expertise, knowledge and ability to create and maintain a website with some integrity.  Integrity is a word that is not often used in conjunction with the internet, unfortunately it’s something that, in most cases, is in short supply.

Internet business opportunities, by their very nature, give people the image that there are opportunities that they can make money on the internet.  It sounds kind of simple, but making money on line is not a simple process.  In fact, because of how the internet is set up, it’s a very difficult process.  That is one of the reasons that the failure rate of new internet business opportunities is so horrendously high.  Getting a realistic handle on the failure rates of new businesses on the internet is almost impossible.  My sense is that the figure is well over 95% for first year businesses.

What is the reason for so high a failure rate?  One of them is the complexity of owning and operating a web site, and the other is the difficulty in navigating the search engine maze.  I will deal with that situation in another article; let me stay on course about the integrity of your website.  As you progress in your search for an internet home business that suits your skill set, you are going to be bombarded with what I call a “web site in a box”, or PIPS “, plug in profit sites.  They come in many different disguises and many different names, but what they all boil down to is this: all you have to do is pay these people a fee, and they will deliver you an already packaged, prepared web site, all you have to do is open the box and there you have it; an internet business opportunity just for you.

The only words that come to mind are these two, absurd and scam.  Absurd that anyone would think these offerings work and scam because the failure rate on these rips-offs is so astronomically high to make these things improbable.  Unfortunately, these offerings are EVERYWHERE, there is probably not a web site out there that deals with internet business opportunities, that does not have some of these types of offerings on their web site, ( non of those are on this site ). Whenever you have a market, people looking for a way to make money.  That market will always attract the scammers and the huskers; the internet is not unique in that aspect.

My greatest issue with these type of offers is this: (I have many issues with them, this one is near the top of my list), is the issue of who is going to run this web site, once you basically open the box?  I know, one of the many claims about these deals is that it’s a web site that runs on what they call “auto pilot“.  That is also crap.  The very essence of a successful website is that it contains original content; material that is new and never seen before.  This is what separates the internet business opportunity in the number one spot from the one in 100th spot.

The purpose of this article is to bring your attention to this issue and have you aware that it exists out there for you, regardless of what internet business opportunity you choose; you will have to build it and maintain it.
